RCC Institute of Technology is looking for part time Faculty for its Bachelor of Interior Design program, located at the Steeles campus in Concord, Ontario and Online.

You will facilitate meaningful learning of the course competencies in the curriculum and proactively supports all facets of the learning environment. You will provide education through learning-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace. You will encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning and ethics as well as personal and professional development.

Key Job Elements

  • Provide competency-based education which aligns with the RCC model of curricula as well as supporting the RCC style of system delivery.
  • Enable the achievement of pre-described exit competencies for student achievement and evaluation of learning by providing instruction which fosters competencies and establish student performance criteria and evaluation.
  • Deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success.
  • Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and students and engaging students in the learning process.
  • Manage the learning environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing school/campus academic and attendance policies.
  • Relate professional/life/industry experience to learning by the continuation of professional/technical skills development, the introduction of industry perspective into courses, and the active awareness of professional/industry trends and opportunities.

Position Profile

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Registered/licensed professional designer (Architect or Interior Design), NCIDQ preferred
  • LEED AP
  • ARIDO Educator
  • Minimum 10 years professional experience.
  • Requisite contacts and network to develop a strong faculty team
  • Minimum 2 years post secondary teaching experience
  • Collaborative, collegial; able to get things done by working with others
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service focus with emphasis on student success and retention
  • Demonstrates exemplary leadership skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral

About the Bachelor of Interior Design Program

In March 2011, RCC Institute of Technology was granted Ministerial Consent under the Ontario Post-secondary Education Choice and Excellence Act to offer a degree program leading to a Bachelor of Interior Design. The Bachelor of Interior Design is available to students through traditional in-class instruction, online, or by blended in-class and online delivery. It is the first Bachelor of Interior Design Program in Canada and only the third in North America to offer all courses through online delivery. Classes began in October 2011.

In August 2015, Yorkville University received consent in British Columbia to offer the Bachelor of Business Administration, with new specializations in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Project Management and Energy Management.
