Reporting into the Procurement Leader, the Storeroom Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the Storeroom. The Stores department provides a high level of customer service to Maintenance, Engineering and Production by ensuring the right part is available at the right time. This position is responsible for:

Managing the processes for the flow of materials from point of receipt to the deployment or use of the material by maintaining accurate inventories in serviceable condition.

Maintaining inventory to ensure service levels through Cycle Counting and other means.

Maintaining internal data used by the Storeroom and Storeroom Customers.

Developing, implementing and sustaining processes to improve Storeroom performance that meets internal process requirements and IATF 16949-2016 requirements.

Reporting and managing Storeroom monthly and yearly KPI’s and objectives

Key Accountabilities

Safety - support employee safety initiatives and policies

Staff Management - management of union and non-union employee's

Data Management - material records data is valid and accurate in SAP. Update Storeroom databases and files on a regular basis.

Storeroom Access – storeroom is operated as a closed storeroom with limited access and counter service provided to customers. After hour access is controlled with limited access.

Cycle Counting – cycle counting is completed per schedule with accuracy reported by net adjustments for on hand quantity and dollar value.

Issuing Materials – materials are issued at the time of removal from their bin location.

Purchase Requisitions for Store Stock – review historical demand and propose inventory planning parameter changes.

Daily Planned Order- review and release planned orders to ensure the correct service levels are maintained and over stocks are avoided. PR's are released from SAP.

Receiving Materials - process quality control for incoming materials to ensure correct materials and quantities are received.

Repairable Materials – manage repairable materials process for external repairs.

Criticality Rating – responsible for coordinating with Reliability to maintain the criticality ranking of store stock materials in SAP.

ABC Analysis – maintain the ABC analysis rating on material records and utilize for cycle counting.

Obsolete Material – manage obsolete material review and disposition process.

Kitting –manage kitting process to support planned Maintenance work

Stock Item Addition – coordinate new stock addition process into SAP and the Storeroom.

Vendor Managed Inventory –provide material planning input for use in the development of vendor managed inventory.

Return to Stock - manage process for returning issued materials back to store stock inventory.

Return to Vendor – manage return to vendor process.

Emergency Purchasing – manage and coordinate with procurement for after hour emergency purchasing.

Key Material Metrics – capture and monitor key materials management performance metrics monthly and annually

Asset Care – responsible for proper storage and coordination with Reliability for preventive maintenance work orders.




Management experience (5 + years preferred) in a unionized environment

Experience in MRO inventory management and/or storeroom

Strong familiarity with multiple MRO commodities

Demonstrated orientation towards customer service

Experience with inventory management computer system (SAP Preferred)

Demonstrated experience with MS Access (importing data and running queries) & Excel (creating spreadsheets and running macro's).

Quality System experience, e.g., IATF 16949-2016

Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, or Engineering Technology Diploma required

Experience with Lean Six Sigma, and CI projects
