As a Senior Financial Advisor with your Professional Financial Planner designation, you will manage and grow a sophisticated portfolio of clients and provide your high value clients a unique, comprehensive and personalized approach to help them reach their financial goals. What You’ll Be Doing

Maintain and grow a managed portfolio of mass affluent clients with commitment to understanding the needs of their family and business while providing trusted advice and solutions that will meet their financial needs
Creating deep client relationships based on managing their money today, building a solid financial plan for the future and adjusting when priorities change.
Focusing on discovering client goals and delivering customized recommendations supported by needs-based financial solutions
Working with advice specialists and partners across the organization to bring the best of CIBC to our clients to exude our client promise
Proactively identifying opportunities for growth and business development through networking and community involvement
Continuously updating knowledge and skills

What We’re Looking For
Successful candidates must exhibit CIBC’s values of trust, team work, and accountability
Experience providing clients with quality financial advice in an advisory role for a minimum of three years

Must meet all requirements to be MFDA licensed:
Successful completion of the Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC) or Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
Professional Financial Planner (PFP) designation is preferred at time of hire, but alternatively you must be on the PFP learning path
Retirement Planning certificate program (RRC) is preferred at time of hire, but alternatively must be obtained within 24 months

Well-developed knowledge and experience in:
Delivery of CIBC's financial advice & planning methodology
CIBC Imperial Service value proposition and practices to build deep client relationships based on providing financial solutions linked to high quality financial planning and advice.
The key drivers of client satisfaction that positively impact net promoter score
Identifying appropriate partnership and consolidation opportunities and effectively promote Imperial Service
Investment, retirement and credit planning skills, sufficient to meet the needs of affluent clients and to compete for the business within the current market; investment and deposit products and services and related industry and bank compliance standards; a full range of credit products/ services, consumer lending practices, credit analysis and compliance standards; and CIBC's operational and credit risk policies and procedures sufficient to monitor and manage risk of the assigned portfolio
Small business lending practices and small business specific products and services
Estate planning, power of attorney, wills, family trusts, insurance and tax sufficient to discuss these topics with clients and engage or refer to the appropriate specialists

Developed knowledge and experience in:
CIBC's operational risk sufficient to ensure adherence to established bank policies, practices and procedures for day-to-day operations and to ensure that customer and the Bank are protected
Regulatory requirements including but not limited to AML and Access to Basic Banking regulations
CIBC mutual fund compliance requirements
CIBC's small business risk appetite for new and existing relationships
Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal) sufficient to prepare and deliver client presentations and proposals
Well-developed interactive/ presentation skills sufficient to convey both factual and conceptual information requiring detailed explanation and interpretations to staff and knowledgeable customers, professionals and business groups within the community
Well-developed time management skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Well-developed computer literacy skills with knowledge of PC software and mainframe applications (e.g. Windows, Portfolio Management, Contact Management, etc.) to access and record customer information, to complete sales and servicing activities and to develop detailed financial plans

Working Conditions
This role operates within a normal office environment with little exposure to adverse working conditions
There are flexible hours based on hours of operation of Banking Centres
Occasional travel will be required

What You Need To Know
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the location(s) specified above and, where applicable, must have a valid work permit or study permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role
This is a regular fulltime role with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week
This role requires an individual capable of working flexible hours to accommodate client needs including days, evenings and weekends
Branch environment. Occasional travel or visits to clients off-site as required
You must meet accreditation and eligibility requirements for [IIROC/MFDA/AMF] licensing
As a Senior Financial Advisor, your role in creating and maintaining deep client relationships is important, and as such, you are expected to remain a minimum of 24 months in the role and portfolio before you may be eligible for other job opportunities within the organization.
