Human Resources Coordinator

ADAPT is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and other funders to provide a range of community-based adult and youth addiction services to the Region of Halton. ADAPT requires a full-time Human Resource Co-ordinator who will be responsible for the development and implementation of Human Resource strategies, procedures and policies within the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee and co-ordinate all recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, disability management, in-service training and attendance management.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers (i.e. group insurance agents, consultants, lawyers) and provide leadership, direction and inspiration to department team members.
  • Offer support and coaching regarding staffing decisions, adherence to human resource policies and relevant legislation.
  • Administer HR reports: outcomes measurement and identification of response strategies for overtime, turnover, training costs; workers compensation costs; exit interviews and employee feedback surveys etc.
  • Ensure effective management of human resource records/HRIS system in accordance with statutory regulations, agency policies, procedures and systems.
  • Manage ADAPT policy manual and ensure all staff are up to date and in compliance.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Workers Compensation Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Social Inclusion Act and ensure the agency is compliant as required.
  • Provide back-up support to ADAPT payroll processes and procedures.
  • Maintain agency volunteer management program and assist in the recruitment and training of new volunteers.

Skills & Abilities Include:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships (both internal and external) and to contribute to a supportive work environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication including the ability to develop, analyze and present reports. Acute planning skills, strong organizational skills and works independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while being able to respond to priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and complex issues with discretion.
  • Proven skills and demonstrated accomplishments in project management
  • Relevant computer competency skills

Qualifications Include:

  • Post secondary education in Human Resources or related Social Services.
  • Certified Human Resource Professional designation (CHRP)
  • Experience in a non-profit organization or health care agency setting preferred.
  • Experience with the administration of employee health benefits and preparing an automated payroll.
  • Valid driver’s license
