We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Financial Analyst (Sales) to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be working closely with the Sales Managers and Trade Marketing. The future incumbent will be responsible for developing actionable plans that maximize profit in the areas of pricing, product mix, trade promotion depth and frequency. The role is responsible for tracking, monitoring and analyzing competitive pricing and promotional initiatives. The role acts as a business partner providing projections, reporting, analytics and insights that influence business decision-making.

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

Delivering Strong Trade Spend Return on Investment (ROI)
  • Work closely with Sales Managers and Trade Marketing to maximize the ROI for limited-time-offers and trade spend.
  • Model break-even analyses based on estimated base and lift, determine the appropriate frequency and level of depth of limited-time-offers (LTOs) in each market.
  • Accountable to create and present ROI performance, both pre and post analysis on all major programs to Brand and Sales Managers.
  • Monitor current and projected spend by channel, reporting variances to Business and Brand Plans.
  • Manage Integrated Business Plan (IBP) Sales / Executive level dashboards detailing competitive promotions and LTOs to provide insights into trends in the marketplace.
Maximizing profitability in the analysis of new opportunities, management of trade spend and competitive pricing
  • Accountable to coordinate and deliver the financial analyses for all sales opportunities incorporating estimates of trade spending, pricing and cost.
  • Serve as a financial business partner to Sales Managers and Trade Marketing Managers, specifically on accounting and finance related activities.
  • Reviews and provides commentary and support on the gross margin performance against plan for all Channels. Perform business impact, gap or cost/benefit analyses for new pricing opportunities, competitive price changes, limited-time-offer frequency and depth.
Developing Competitive Pricing and Discounting Analysis and Metrics
  • Tracks the competitive pricing and discounting levels and sales adherence to brand plans. Recommends pricing opportunities to Sales and Brand Managers.
  • Works with Business Intelligence (BI) to determine financial impact of pricing and discounting opportunities or activity in the market.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Economics, Business or Accounting.
  • 3+ years' experience in related fields, general knowledge of winemaking, distillation, manufacturing and supply chain an asset.
  • Experience in consumer-packaged goods industry, preferred.
  • Ability to stand your ground and be persuasive to achieve targeted measurable results and ensure operating and strategic goals are met.
  • Proficient in analytics, financial modeling and financial accounting and reporting.
  • Advanced skills using spreadsheets and presentation tools.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights.
  • Strong relationship management skills; ability to collaborate and develop key internal relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, written, graphical and verbal.
  • Performs well in an environment with competing priorities and multiple projects.
  • Skilled in using the Microsoft suite of products.
