is a not for profit organization which manages a number of programs, the largest of which is the Computers for Schools program in Ontario.

RCT is looking for an individual to fill the position of General Labourer/Inventory Counter to work at our Mississauga location.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Disassemble components and sort in bins
  • Count, verify, record and organize inventory during cycle counts
  • Sort, pack, package and skid materials and products
  • Transport equipment throughout shop and warehouse
  • Use RF/Bar Code scanners to scan products on system
  • Check and weigh materials and products
  • Clean work areas and equipment
  • Perform other labouring and elemental activities

Qualifications & Skills
  • Post secondary education
  • Preference: Information Technology (IT) background
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Keeps clear and accurate documentation
  • Be able to work within a team environment
  • Attention to detail

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Manual dexterity
  • Good hand-eye co-ordination
  • Safety shoes required

Program requirements:

This position is a HRSDC funded program under the Youth Employment Strategy program and has strict qualifying criteria as follows:
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 30 years
  • Must be a student currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution or a youth who has completed at least 1 course at a university or other post-secondary institution
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Work Permits do not qualify for the program.
  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations
  • Must not be previous participants in a HRSDC youth funded program
  • Not in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits

Criminal Record check is required

Contract term: 3 – 4 months to March 31, 2018 Salary: $13.50 per hour (37.5 hour work week)
