Business Development Specialist – Creditor Insurance RFS CUSTOMER OBSESSION RFS

To support, facilitate and champion a sustainable improvement in the sales of creditor insurance products. The Business Development Specialist – Creditor Insurance works in partnership with leadership and branch sales staff to realize these improvements and thereby contributes to the achievements of the business objectives.

You will find success based on your ability to:

Increase penetration of ATB Loan Protection products.
  • Assist branch sales force in developing Loan Protection business.
  • Assist retail sales team members in positioning the insurance conversation.
  • Create awareness of national and local sales programs.
  • Ongoing reinforcement of correct insurance sales behavior (code of conduct).
  • Provide insurance competitive information.
  • Provide product training.
  • Support building branch pipeline and identify opportunities within the market.
  • Sustain focus on new sales opportunities.
Improve branch sales/delivery competencies and knowledge of Loan Protection products, offers, and polices.
  • Deliver and sustain sales skills training activities for Loan Protection specific to the requirements of Retail Financial Services.
  • Provide ongoing sales skills coaching in conjunction with branch management.
  • Sustainment of sales through objection handling.
Establish and maintain a strong partnership, working relationship with all Market Vice Presidents and Branch Managers, in addition to the sales force.
  • Inform the retail markets of best practice activities, and act as a conduit of information.
  • Review sales plans and identify opportunities and gaps.
  • Work with Sales Managers and Mortgage Specialists to produce quarterly plans to increase insurance sales.
  • Work with Senior Manager, Loan Protection and Market Vice Presidents to produce quarterly plans and insurance target setting.

Job Requirements

As the ideal candidate you possess:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • University Degree or Equivalent business experience.
  • 2 – 5yrs Experience in selling Creditor Insurance Products &/or ATB Credit Products.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of all Creditor Insurance areas i.e. products, features, policies, etc.
  • Excellent facilitation skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in selling creditor insurance products.
  • In-depth knowledge of ATB credit products.
  • In-depth knowledge of the preparation of creditor insurance applications.
  • Outgoing personality who enjoys giving presentations and coaching sales people.
  • Readily adapts to changes in the organizational environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong collaborator with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills - is able to manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Well developed on-one-one sale coaching skills.
  • Connector: Builds relationships naturally, and brings people of mutual interest together easily.
  • Translator: Can convert large volumes of information, complex or ambiguous, into readily-understood communication.
